There is a medical relationship between human age and renal function (J Clin Invest. May 1950; 29(5): 496–507. doi: 10.1172 / JCI1022 86PMCID: PMC436086), which is a growing age. The curve that falls (it is a problem if it falls too fast), everyone hopes that the kidneys can be used before the end of life, and will not die because of kidney failure.

The slower the speed of the relationship between age and kidney function, the better the life expectancy (a cat with good kidney function can live to 30 years old), taking care of the kidneys is the highest guiding principle for cat owners. Everyone knows that the cat's eating habits are the cause of the decline in kidney function, but it is often found that there is kidney disease after entering the hospital. After knowing that there is a kidney disease, it has to be fixed for a period of time.

At present, the blood test is judged by the value of CREA (creatine) that cannot be excreted by the kidneys with the urine. The higher the CREA number in the blood, the worse the renal function. However, getting up the first urine every morning means that after the whole body has been digested and metabolized for a whole night, the excess waste should be excreted through the kidneys. If the kidney function is not good, not all waste can be excreted with urine but stay in the body, such as CREA, other substances with electrical conductivity are also blocked, urine can judge kidney function. Among them, electrical conductivity is a very useful indicator. In the case of maintaining the same dietary habits for a long time, the electrical conductivity of urine with relatively good renal function is relatively high.

 

Just like an adult cat under the age of 7, the kidneys are young and the kidney function has not begun to decline (the function of the kidneys will decrease with age). In other words, older cats older than 7 years old certainly have less kidney function than before 7 years old. By the age of 20, the kidney function is only half of the cat, which is a natural phenomenon. Every cat has reached a certain age, and kidney function decline (not called kidney disease) is the only way to go. The difference is only speed for different age groups,
